Asparagus Recipes
Simple Steamed Asparagus:
Feeds 2
Ingredients:
- One Pound Asparagus
- 1-2 Tbs. Butter
- Salt to taste
- Cut tough portion of stem from bottom of each spear (generally about 1 inch) and discard.
- Cut stems in half.
- Place bottom halves of stems in small saucepot, followed by top halves of stems.
- Fill saucepot with 1 inch of water.
- Cover and cook on high heat for 4 minutes or until steam rolls from lid.
- Turn off heat and let sit for 2 minutes. Spears should be tender and bright green.
- Drain water from pot.
- Toss with butter and salt to taste.

Ingredients:
- One Pound Asparagus
- 1-2 Tbs. Olive Oil
- 4-5 Tbs. Balsamic Vinegar
- 1/4 cup fresh grated Romano Cheese
- Salt to taste
- Cut tough portion of stem from bottom of each spear (generally about 1 inch) and discard.
- Brush spears with olive oil and season with salt.
- Place spears on grill grate and grill on medium to high heat, rolling once for 8-10 minutes.
- Spears are done when tender and somewhat "floppy"
- Remove spears and toss with Balsamic vinegar, then sprinkle with Romano cheese.
