Do I have to wear a life jacket?

All guests must wear a lifejacket unless they have passed the Carrigan Farms swim test. More information about the swim test can be found here on our website. Lifejackets are available at the quarry in sizes ranging from child through XXL and provided free of charge.

Are there lifeguards?

Yes there are lifeguards on duty at open swim, however, lifeguards cannot guarantee your safety and all swimming remains at your own risk.

Do I need to fill out a waiver?

Yes, everyone must complete a waiver prior to entering the quarry. Upon making your reservation, the waiver link will be sent in the confirmation email. Minors need to have a parent or guardian complete their waiver.

Do I need to make a reservation?

Advanced reservations are required to attend open swim. At the time of booking you will pay a $5 deposit per person and the balance of admission will be due at the door when you arrive, cash or check only. Depending on the date and time of your visit, the total cost is $20 to $30 per person, with the $5 deposit being paid in advance and the balance due at the door. Note that everyone must have a reservation and everyone must pay admission, even if they are not swimming.

Reserved guests will receive a $5 dining voucher to use on the date and time of their reservation. The vouchers are not redeemable for cash, non-transferable, do not apply to alcohol or alcoholic beverages, and are only redeemable on the day and time of the reservation.

What if I am not swimming? Do I need a reservation, to pay admission, and to complete a waiver?

YES, you need a reservation. YES, you need to pay admission. YES, you must complete a waiver. These items are required, even if you are not swimming or are just there to watch your children.

What items should I pack to have a good time there?

Swimsuit, towel, t-shirt & shorts, shoes, water shoes (chacos /tevas, etc) sunscreen, cash or check. You can also bring a chair if you wish. Some people bring pool noodles or small floats.

Do you take credit or debit cards?

No. No credit or debit cards are accepted at the farm or restaurant. Only cash and paper checks are accepted for payment.

Do you have an ATM?

No, we do not have an ATM.

Do you serve food?

The restaurant at the quarry serves farm fresh favorites like the “Quarry Burger,” grilled chicken sandwiches, scratch made pizza, veggie burgers, fresh salads, fruit cups, ice cream, snow cones, as well as fresh items that change daily. Beer and wine are also available for purchase. Please note that no outside food or beverages may be brought to open swim. The restaurant is also cash or check only.

What if it rains?

There are no rain checks. If we feel the weather will be bad enough to impact the event, we will reach out to all reservation holders with updates. If you don’t hear from us, we still plan to be open!

Is there a dress code?

During Open Swim at the Quarry at Carrigan Farms, we ask that our customers dress appropriately for a family focused establishment. We encourage customers to dress comfortably and appropriately for the summer heat and for swimming, but please do not wear anything that other guests might find offensive or that might make other guests uncomfortable. This includes clothing with profane language statements or swimwear and loungewear that may be too revealing for a family environment. Our goal is to provide a relaxed, fun, outdoor environment that is family friendly and inclusive for both guests and employees.

Do I have to be able to do a pull up to use the rope swing?

Yes, you must demonstrate one pull-up from a fully extended hanging position using an overhand grip and getting your chin above the bar in order to use the rope swing. The pull-up requirement is non-negotiable and no exceptions will be made. This is for your safety. You must also be at least 54 inches tall to use the rope swing.

Can I fish at Open Swim?

Catch-and-release fishing is available for Open Swim customers in our two farm ponds. Guests need to bring their own fishing gear. The ponds have bass, bream and crappie. Fishing is not permitted in The Quarry, or at non-open swim times. The fishing is catch and release, which means you need to throw the fish back into the pond and not keep them.

Can I bring in food or beverages from home?

No outside food or beverage is permitted at open swim. This means you cannot bring your own food or drinks. This rule applies to all food and beverage items, including cake, cupcakes, snacks, etc.

Can I bring my boombox/portable speaker?

No outside music is allowed at Open Swim. Background music is provided during Open Swim for the enjoyment of everyone.

Can I film with a drone?

No, you may not.

Can I bring my dog?

No pets are allowed at the farm, including dogs, cats, baby goats, etc.

Can I bring a float?

You may bring a float sized for one person. We do not have an air pump. Please do not bring any floats designed for more than one individual. Please do not bring large rafts, paddle boards, kayaks or boats.

Can I smoke cigarettes, cigars or a pipe while I am there?

We ask that our guests refrain from smoking while they are at the farm.
