Due to the epic rains of Hurricane Florence, the apple season is over for 2018. We will not be offering apple hayrides or apple picking anymore in 2018. Apple picking will resume next year.
We will have hayrides to the pumpkin patch and pumpkin picking beginning Saturday September 29th, 2018 at 9:00 AM and lasting through the month of October. See below for more information.
Looking for the authentic pumpkin patch experience? Look no farther than Carrigan Farms. Conducted every October since 1975, our tractor-drawn pumpkin patch hayrides might be old fashioned, but we assure you they are the real deal.
At Carrigan Farms we GROW tens of thousands of pumpkins every year. Each and every hayride includes a trip to the pumpkin patch, where kids of all ages (adults too!) each pick their very own pumpkin. Pumpkins range in size from 2-20 pounds +/-, so everyone can find the size that’s right for them. Cost of our hayride on weekends is $11.00 per person for everyone ages 2 and above. Young babies 23 months and under are free; however, they do not get a pumpkin.
Starting Saturday, September 29th, days and times for pumpkin patch hayrides are:
Saturdays: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Sundays: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 2:00 PM, 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM
Saturday and Sunday hayrides depart approximately every 15 minutes and last 45 minutes to one hour. Our busiest time on Saturdays is between 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM. Our busiest time on Sundays is from 12:00 noon until 2:30 PM. So for the shortest “wait time” come either before or after the peak.
Our farm market is open from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM every day of the week during the month of October. Come enjoy a fun time shopping for fresh apples and apple cider, corn stalks, straw bales, mini pumpkins and giant pumpkins, colorful and fun shaped gourds, Indian corn, turnips and greens, colorful mums, local honey, and pumpkins by-the-pound.
Only cash and check are accepted for payment. Credit and debit cards are not accepted.
Throughout the week, Mondays through Friday, many teachers bring their classes to Carrigan Farms for field trips to the pumpkin patch. Typically the weekday hayrides depart between the hours of 9:30 and 11:30 AM and last about one hour. They also include educational lessons on photosynthesis and pollination. Often times we are able to accommodate individual families, by appointment, by allowing them to join in with one of the field trips. The weekday schedule varies each day depending on the school field pre-existing reservation and extra space available.
If you would like to join a pre-existing school field trip on a Monday through Friday morning with your family, please contact us to check availability. Please include in your email the number of children and adults you wish to bring and three preferred weekday mornings in October and we will email you our space available times. Please note while weekend hayrides leave approximately every 15 minutes, weekday morning field trips leave promptly at their scheduled time. Cost of our hayrides on Mondays-Fridays is $11.00 per person for everyone ages 2 and above. Young babies 23 months and under are free; however, they do not get a pumpkin.
